I was at the University of Surrey 1972 - 1977. Alan was my personal tutor for my BSc in Physics (1972 - 1976) . I joined him on a number of his pioneering archaeometry adventures (I was awarded The Surrey Archaeological Society Prize in Archaeometry in 1976). God bless.
